BY PLANE

Croatian Airlines is currently the main carrier with the most frequent schedule, operating regular services from Split International Airport to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sarajevo, Skopje, Vienna, Zurich, Tel Aviv, and, seasonally, to Manchester.

Currently none of the low cost airlines are flying to Croatia. However they are flying to neighbouring Italy & Slovenia, from which Croatia can be reached by ferry or car.

There is currently not an airport on Hvar equipped to handle international traffic. However, there is an airfield between Stari Grad & Jelsa that is suitable for light aircraft. Croatia itself has a good national bus network that will take you to any part of the country including Split.
Regular international bus lines connect Croatia with all neighbouring countries, as well as most middle European and west European countries.

BY TRAIN

The Croatian National Railway

Connects all major Croatian cities including Split www.split.hr.
There are direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, France, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Yugoslavia. There are indirect lines to almost all other European countries.
